Our Day Training program is designed to give you a confident, well-behaved partner for all of your adventures in the city and in nature. Whether you're in the North End or South Tacoma, we train in your home, your neighborhood, and beyond. Our day training programs are tailored to you and your dog, with a focus on excellent manners at home and out in the world. We’ll do the heavy lifting so you can enjoy time with your awesome dog.

What Is Day Training?

Our Day Training program is designed to immerse your dog in a structured, positive learning environment, fast-tracking your training goals and trusting the bulk of the work to the professional trainer. Your dog will spend up to an hour a day with our certified trainer, Poppy Foxheart, participating in one-on-one training sessions focused on building essential life skills. We combine force-free training with enrichment, exercise, and appropriate socialization to ensure your dog returns to you happy, tired, and better-behaved.

How Day Training Works

Day training packages are four weeks long, with the number of sessions each week determined by which package you choose. Those sessions will be split between day training (Poppy works one-on-one with your dog), and private lessons (Poppy works with the whole family, teaching you how to maintain and reinforce the skills your dog has learned.) The majority of your sessions will be day training, with either short, regular updates at the end of each session or a private lesson once a week - whatever works best for you. All Day Training packages include unlimited text support as well as flexibility to meet remotely when in person isn’t feasible.

Through our program, your dog may learn:

  • Foundational Skills (Sit, Down, Stay, Touch, etc.)

  • Polite Leash Walking

  • Reliable Recall (Coming When Called)

  • Confidence and Joy

  • Better Behavior Around Triggers

  • Any Other Goals You May Have

Tacoma Focus: We place special emphasis on skills for city living and raising a delightful companion, including polite greetings on busy sidewalks, ignoring urban distractions, and behaving beautifully at the brewery or farmer’s market. We also bring a modern, reinforcement-based approach to reactivity and aggression cases.

The First Step: Your Consultation & Custom Plan

Every partnership begins with an initial consultation. During this meeting, we'll discuss your dog's specific behaviors and your primary training goals. We will introduce you to our positive reinforcement methods and develop a customized training plan, laying out the best options for you and your dog. You'll leave our first meeting with a clear path forward and the foundational skills to get started.

The initial 90-minute consultation is $225 and is required to begin any training package.

    This package is for the dog who needs a refresher on basic skills, fine tuning your dog’s already happy demeanor, or working on one specific skill.

    16 sessions to be allocated between day training (dog + trainer) and private lessons (dog + trainer + family) over 4 weeks. (4 days a week)

    This package is the right fit for dogs who are just starting their training journey and needing to learn all the basics of being an awesome family dog.

    20 sessions to be allocated between day training (dog + trainer) and private lessons (dog + trainer + family) over 4 weeks. (5 days a week)

    This package is perfect for dogs who need help with a number of goals, puppies building a solid foundation, and channeling your dog’s boundless energy.
